Director of Relationship Management
JOB DESCRIPTION
Advisor Growth Strategies (AGS) is a leading consulting and mergers and acquisition (M&A) firm serving the wealth management industry. AGS is seeking a hard-driving, independent self-starter who has a passion for making a difference in the wealth management industry. Our ideal candidate will demonstrate the ability to lead and develop a team of talented consultants to help deliver best-in-class advice to our current and prospective clients.
This position provides an opportunity to play an integral role within a boutique management consulting and M&A firm. The ideal candidate will have the opportunity to demonstrate their sales & relationship management and industry knowledge to drive the execution of AGS financial objectives.

The position is a new role that will be an integral part of the firm’s management team and reports directly to the AGS Managing Partner. Responsibilities include:
- Leading a team of consultants to manage the firm’s consulting projects and M&A mandates.
- Managing the firm’s sales funnel with the partners to help achieve the company’s financial goals.
- Working in a collaborative environment and interacting with the AGS team and our clients.
- Interacting the firm partners to manage the firm’s industry profile via events, social media, and center-of-influence network.
- Developing the company’s sales and relationship management capabilities.
- Working across the firm to coordinate projects, capacity, and client deliverables.
- Creating and reviewing written strategic deliverables including financial models. The candidate will have directly accountability to AGS partners.
DESIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
- Demonstrated track record of sales and relationship management skills in wealth management and working in a team-based environment.
- History of success developing relationship management professionals.
- Intimate knowledge of wealth management. A role in practice management, transaction advisory, or business management is required.
- Excellent analysis skills, ability to independently generate presentations and advice deliverables to clients.
- Strong relationship management skills and proven sales skills. The ideal candidate must show a track record of driving financial objectives and delivering an outstanding client experience.
- Excellent writing skills. Ability to write and edit internal and client documents; pitchbooks, client presentations, and recommendations.
- Self-starter. Willingness to be hands-on and perform whatever tasks are necessary for the company and its clients.
- Track record and successful communication internally and virtually.
- Working knowledge of the financial services industry and deep knowledge of the RIA industry. Direct experience a relationship management team at a large RIA, custodian/broker dealer, management consulting firm or investment banking firm is strongly preferred.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree in relevant field of study such as accounting, statistics, economics, etc. Masters degree or equivalent strongly preferred.
- 8 to 10 years experience consulting, project management, and financial services experience.
- Must have deep understanding of the RIA industry and at least 5 years experience in this segment. Candidates without RIA industry experience will not be considered.
- Sales and relationship management skills and alignment with AGS philosophy of attracting and serving clients.
- Ability to work in a team and matrixed work environment.
- Track record of managing and developing a team of consulting/relationship management professionals.
- AGS is located in Phoenix, Arizona. Co-location is strongly preferred.
